ABOUT ME
Born in Colorado. Richard Allen Kearney, left home at the age of fifteen carrying the scars of childhood marked by instability, abuse, and the quiet resilience that comes from surviving it.
At eighteen, he picked up an acoustic guitar with one simple goal - to learn to play. Having always been drawn to music, he taught himself without formal lessons, spending countless hours practicing, jamming with friends, and learning through experience.
As life unfolded, Richard set his guitar aside to build a career, but his love for music never disappeared. Years later, he returned and started performing cover songs while forming the acoustic band Eloquent Stranger, playing classic rock, folk, and ballad favorites throughout the Atlanta area.
In 2018, Richard suffered a stroke that changed everything. It robbed him of the guitar skills he had spent years developing and brought with it the emotional struggle of losing both his passion and creative outlet. For several years, his guitar remained untouched.
In 2023 he made the decision to pick it up again.
What began as an attempt to relearn the instrument became something much deeper - a journey of healing, recovery, and rediscovery. Today, Richard writes and performs original songs that explore life, love, loss, hope, regret, and the quiet light that often shines through even our darkest moments.
His music reflects the road he has traveled and the belief that every story, no matter how difficult, can find redemption through song.
Richard performs in listening-room venues, songwriter circles, private events, and occasionally at open mic nights throughout the Atlanta area, where audiences often hear brand new songs written and performed by other local singer/songwriters.
